NaNoWriMo Week #3: Progress and Writer’s Block

Hello hello everyone!!

Goodness, I can’t believe its all ready week 3 of NaNoWriMo!! It still feels like I just started!

Once again, this post is going to be really short, because I don’t have much energy to write anything else besides my novel. 😀

Speaking of the novel, progress has been going extremely well!! I’ve been steadily writing around 2k words a day.

The best way I’ve found to get the words in is to get up early and write all 2k before breakfast. That way I can be burnt out the rest of the day without needing to write anything else. XD

For real though, that’s what I’ve been doing the past week, and its worked pretty well.

However, there have been struggles, and cases of writer’s block. Around the middle of this week I was writing at a snail’s pace. I couldn’t focus on writing, I didn’t have any motivation, and I was simply writing for the sake of the word count. Each sentence was dull and difficult, and it took me two or more hours to write what I could usually write in less than an hour. But hey. This is how you win NaNo. You just keep writing. That’s the key. Even when it hurts. Even when you would rather do anything else. You write one word after another. That’s how you reach your 50k goal.

If anyone is reading this who is also participating in NaNoWriMo, I just want to encourage you. We have one week left. Even if you’re a little behind, or you don’t feel motivated to write at all…keep going. You got this. I believe in you. 🙂

Currently Trusting the Enemy is at 40k+ words, and I’m still writing 2k a day. At this rate, I’ll hit my goal of 50k in a few days, and the rest of November will be used to finish the remainder of the novel.

I’m sorry these posts are so short, but thank you all for sticking with me and supporting me in this month-long challenge!

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving next week, and stay tuned for next Saturday, where I’ll be posting a couple snippets from my NaNo novel! Thanks again for all the support!

Until later,
