I love keeping track of how many books I read each year, and which ones they were!
While I didn’t read quite as many books this year as in years past, I was able to read quite a few, most being new books I’d never read before! I read the three books listed below for the first time this year, and I thoroughly enjoyed them all, so I thought I’d highlight them in a blog post!

Book #1: The Harry Potter Series

I know, surprise surprise, I read the Harry Potter series for the first time at 17 years old! 😅 This, however, didn’t stop me from getting enraptured in the magic system, lovable characters, and high stakes that the story revealed throughout all 7 books.
When I put down the last book after finishing it, I just sat on my bed for a moment and reflected in awe at the excellence that was built into this series. Before reading them, I’d never truly understood the hype around it. Now I understand! This series is every-inch deserving of a room on the shelf of fantasy classics! I’ll absolutely be reading this series again and again!
Book #2: The Hunger Games Trilogy

I knoowww technically the first two “books” on the list were actually series, but I had to do it! 😜 I read The Hunger Games for the first time this year and was very impressed with the series.
It may not be on my top favorite list of books of all time, but it was excellently written, and it really kept me invested throughout all three books of the series! For the first time, I understood, similar to Harry Potter, why so many people talk highly of this series! It’s got a really intriguing plot, continuously rising stakes and a very shocking climax. Great stuff! *applause*
Book #3: The God of the Garden

Aha, finally a single book on the list of books! 😂
All I can say about this book is wow!! I read Andrew Peterson’s first non-fiction book, Adorning the Dark, when it came out and was very eager to read The God of the Garden as soon as it was announced! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It was another wonderful book from a master storyteller, jam-packed with lessons learned through life and the hope that we all have through Christ, all written in an engaging narration! The voice of Andrew Peterson literally oozes from the pages, it’s so distinct!
I loved this book like all of Andrew Peterson’s books, and I very much look forward to reading whatever he writes next!

And there we have it, three of the best books I read in 2022! Did you read many books over the last year? What were some of the best books you read? Have you read the books I listed? Do you like them? Leave a comment below, I’d love to chat!
Until then, have a great day and a happy new year!
