Easter Poem: Because of Him

I feel the loss.

I feel the hurt.

I feel the pain.

~

I can’t breathe.

I can’t think.

I can’t see.

~

When I try

it’s too much

just for me.

~

I feel the tears.

I feel the wound.

I feel the rend.

~

I can’t hold.

I can’t stand.

I can’t mend.

~

Then He comes.

Then He kneels.

Then He smiles.

~

Then He whispers

in my ear

and lifts me up.

~

I feel the light.

I feel the warmth.

I feel the strength.

~

I can speak.

I can grasp.

I can perceive.

~

The burden lifts

from my shoulders

because of Him.

~

I feel the joy

I feel the care

I feel the love.

~

I can laugh.

I can sing.

I can praise.

~

Joy abounds

Where pain once dwelt

because of Him.
