Ever since we moved into a new house a few years ago, my only thought was to make sure all of my books would fit in my room. Miraculously, with the help of 3 large bookshelves and another small one, they fit! And I’ve kind of let them arrange themselves for the most part. They were roughly divided into genres, but looked as if books were roaming from shelf to shelf, lying down in the oddest places for a quiet afternoon nap.
I decided it was long overdue to change that, and whip my books back into shape! So I give to you, my friends, a short picture account of my journey reorganizing my bookshelves for the very first time. Enjoy!
We started off with this: It isn’t the messiest bookshelf, but it doesn’t hold that same…proper library look I wanted.

The mini bookshelf needs some help too! Look at that top shelf, all slanted and sad!
From here, it was time to get to work!! The middle bookshelf, unfortunately, had some shelf problems, so with help from my dad I was able to get that back in order and the books removed.
This is where the real fun begins!
Don’t worry books, you’ll soon have a home again!
I reorganized the shelves, first categorizing the books by genre, then placing them on the shelves from tallest to shortest book. That way it had a sleek, consistent theme. I uncluttered it, made sure the books were fresh and upright, and there we have it!

I used to have my books on top of our piano, but I recently found a better way to store/display them. We have this cabinet thing on top of our dresser, and I took the doors off and it works perfectly! XD😄 I definitely don’t ever sit there and stare at them for minutes at a time… lol!🤣

Oooh this reminds me that my bookshelf needs to be organized quite terribly 😅 (I… may or may not have books sitting in my closet right now due to overflow… 🙈) I liked how you organized your bookshelves, though, they look very tidy!
Hmm, I’m not entirely sure how I’d categorize my books 🤔 I’d probably do it by genre/author/series.

Ahaha that’s exactly what I used to do with books when I didn’t have shelf space–nothing wrong with an overflow of books! ;P

Woah, you have a lot of books! And that looks like so much fun. Rearranging books is great.
I couldn’t see many titles because the photos were just a little blurry, but I did see Wonder, and that’s one of my favorite books! Though I haven’t read it in a while. . .
