Hello there!

I hope you’re all having a good day! Today I thought I’d share with you a little about my new novella, and my other WIPs. 😀
So yes, it’s official, I wrote a brand new novella! It is the second book in the Mail Chronicles, the sequel to Raid of the Krames. Introducing…Travel to Roylian!

Yaaaaay!! Here are some details about it (I’ll be adding it to my Current Works page soon):
Genre: Middle-Grade Fantasy
Status: First Draft
Words: 40,400
Blurb:
The Krames have been scattered. Those who remain loyal to King Milton have fled into Ethion forest. However, there is still trouble for Mail. The kingdom of Roylian, to the East of Mail, has been arguing with them about the ownership of the land that separates the kingdoms–Liskarra forest.
Sir Cullen and Sir Fremont, along with their squires Duke and Rusty, are elected to travel through the forest to meet the king of Roylian face to face and negotiate an agreement between the kingdoms. However, between bandits, deadly fire lizards, traitorous and corrupt leaders, and the hand of the outcast King Milton, the mission is harder than it sounds, and things may not all be as they seem…

Sound cool? I really hope so!! This was a really fun story to write, and I’m so excited to continue writing the stories set in the Mail Chronicles.
Now! Onto my two other WIPs, the prequel to Travel to Roylian, and Frostbite.
We’ll start with Raid of the Krames.

I haven’t done much with this story, because I still have to get beta readers to go over it before continuing on with more edits. However, it is on Draft 5, and I’m looking into getting beta readers for it as soon as possible!!

Frostbite! The novella I started only…seven or eight months ago? Goodness, it seems like its been longer than that.
Well, Frostbite is doing really well! It’s currently on Draft 4, and I just had beta readers go over it. After I edit the story using their suggestions, I’ll have someone read over it once more really closely, then I think it’ll be time to start researching professional editors!! So exciting! I’ve never been this far in professional book writing before!

So, that’s a little update on my WIPs. You might be asking, “Caleb, what are you going to do with all these drafts once you’ve finished having an editor professionally edit them?”
The answer to that question is…I don’t know. Once they’re polished manuscripts, I think I’ll put them on the backburner for a bit and focus on new projects. Then, when I’m ready to professionally self-publish or look for agents, I’ll do that.
Okay! That’s it for this week! I hope you enjoyed getting a short update on my WIPs!
Until later,

Wow, how exciting, Caleb! While reading the blurb for “Travel to Roylian,” I sort of got a Narnia vibe, which made my heart glad, haha. Maybe it’s because I’ve been reading the books; I don’t know! But, I cannot wait to see what may happen next in your writing journey!

Thank you so much! Haha cool! If I can write anything half as good as Narnia, I’ll be happy! 😀
Thanks again!
