5 Books That Have Inspired My Writing

I was reading when I was pretty young, and, well, I don’t think I would’ve started writing if I hadn’t read some really cool stuff first.

So here are 5 book series that really inspired me to start writing and have inspired me throughout my writing journey.

#1: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, along with The Hobbit, was one of the first fantasy series I ever read. I read them all for the first time when I was eight years old and absolutely loved them.

They were definitely the books that got me writing in the fantasy genre. Such an awesome genre, and these books are masterpieces! I would definitely say Middle Earth is the most developed and strongest fantasy series I have ever read.

#2: The Chronicles of Narnia

Ohhhh maannnn!!! This onnneee!!

The Chronicles of Narnia has been a favorite series of mine since I first read it, and the magical world and stories was a huge inspiration to me to start writing, and still is an inspiration!

#3: The Wingfeather Saga

This series is amazing. Period.

Its story. Its characters. Its covers. Its everything. Such a good good good good series. My hope is that I will be able to write books this wonderful some day. Even a book half as good as these would be great! The world is real, its characters larger than life, its plot so full of wonderful twists and turns!

These books are almost the role models for my stories!

#4: Jedi Apprentice Series

Jude Watson’s books, this series along with her Jedi Quest series, have been some of the most delightful books I’ve ever read, and inspire me so much. They’re the books that got me interested in writing novella series, which is so much fun!

#5: Knights of Arrethtrae Series

I read this series, along with the Kingdom Series, when I was pretty young, and OH. MY. GOSH.

I don’t know if I’d be writing these days if I hadn’t read this series. They’re such amazing stories, the writing is wonderful to read, and the characters are phenomenal. Chuck Black is truly a skilled writer.

These are only a few series that have inspired my writing, but they are some of the core books that inspired me to write and continue writing!
